Work in Deanna Evans Projects Trove

January 01, 2023

I’m thrilled to have three works on paper included in Deanna Evans Projects’ new platform, Trove. “Trove is an online destination for great, affordable small artworks and works on paper from the best emerging artists. Trove evolved from many years of DEP's successful online flat file, and is a unique opportunity to collect work straight from an artist's studio.”

Working on this green monster. Sewn risographs on cotton.

I’ve been making a bunch of these 11” x 8 1/2” #riso #collages on handmade paper. They’re all for sale: $135 each, domestic shipping included, and I’ll be donating 20% of the purchase price to Doctors Without Borders. Link in bio.

Collaging. ✂️ 📄

So cool to see some of the art from the workshop I did with Poppy’s class @madmuseum framed!

New work. “Greenhouse,” 28 x 17 1/2 inches; #collage of #risograph prints on handmade and Japanese papers with sewing.

Some more of these little #riso #collages with sewing 🧵 🪡

I’ve been inviting anyone who comes through my studio at MAD to make a drawing that we RISO print onto patterns I’ve printed.

I’ve been making a bunch of little #risograph collages on white paper with sewing, and I decided to scale up a bit. 30” x 22” RISOs on handmade papers, Stonehenge paper, sewing

I’m excited to be an Artist-in-Residence @madmuseum for the next 6 months. I’ve moved the #RISO in! Come see me on Thursdays and make some prints!

Just a little over a week to see New Voices: On Transformation at Print Center! Being a part of the New Voices cohort has been an amazing experience! Posted @withregram • @chermosa New Voices: On Transformation, on view til August 25 at @printcenternewyork in Chelsea! It was so inspiring to gather these eight amazing artists from the open call (🚨 applications open for the next New Voices!), and let their deep dives into a capacious theme, and endlessly transforming medium, shine. 💥 All appreciation to the artists: Aaron Coleman (@aaron_s_coleman ), Julia Curran (@julia.s.curran), Juana Estrada Hernández (@juanaseemyprints), Lois Harada (@loisharada), Nina Jordan (@ninjor_prints), Farah Mohammad (@famojee), Jacquelyn Strycker (@thestrycker), and Eriko Tsogo (@erikotsogo). This exhibition is only a dip into your amazingly varied practices, but I love the in-person experience of your recent work’s range of techniques, ideas, histories, and “printy” beauty & pressure. 💥

Poppy and I visited @printcenternewyork today! We had fun with my work and she really loved @loisharada ‘s “Wish you were here” penny press! Such a brilliant way to initiate a serious discussion about the US’s incarceration of Japanese Americans.
